The municipal Sveio is located on the Haugaland peninsula, north of the town Haugesund.  The fjord, Ålfjorden, runs 35 km north-south east of Sveio and parallell with the coast line which is facing the North Sea. The fjord is well sheltered by a high mountain chain along the east bank

The main road on the west coast, E 39, runs through Sveio with its 4700 inhabitants and the two centres, Sveio and Førde.

From east (Oslo or Larvik) you drive E 134 to Tysvær. Make a right turn and follow E 39, north approx. 5 km towards Bergen. Make a left turn following the sign to Kvalvåg, over the road bridge and down to the fjord.   By the fjord you turn left and drive 250 m and follow the first exit on your right side.   Cross a  small concrete bridge and there
you are!

Coming from south (Kristiandsand and Stavanger) you drive E 39 and follow the same proceedure.

Coming from north (Bergen and Leirvik) you drive E 39 south through the underwater tunnel till you reach the sign Kvalvåg on your right hand side, approx. 25 km from the tunnel.
