The
municipal Sveio is located on the Haugaland peninsula, north
of the town Haugesund. The
fjord, Ålfjorden, runs 35 km north-south east of Sveio and
parallell with the coast line which is facing the North Sea.
The fjord is well sheltered by a high mountain chain along
the east bank
The
main road on the west coast, E 39, runs through Sveio with
its 4700 inhabitants and the two centres, Sveio and Førde. By
car
From east
(Oslo or Larvik) you drive E 134 to Tysvær. Make a right
turn and follow
E 39, north approx.
5 km towards Bergen. Make a left turn following the sign to
Kvalvåg,
over the road bridge and down to the fjord.
By
the fjord you turn left and drive 250 m and follow the first
exit on your right side.
Cross
a small
concrete bridge and there
you are!

Coming
from south (Kristiandsand and Stavanger) you drive E 39
and follow the same
proceedure.
Coming
from north (Bergen and Leirvik) you drive E 39 south through
the
underwater tunnel
till you reach the sign Kvalvåg on your right hand side,
approx. 25 km from
the tunnel.
